Andreas Meat Co

For any newcomers, who are you and what do you do?

We are Andreas Meat Co, a local producer and supplier of quality Manx meats.

When did you establish your business?

Established in 1990 by Norman and Rita Morrey, originally as M&K Poultry Ltd. John Faloon came on board in 2000, and the name changed to Andreas Meat Co in 2017. After John and Norman sadly passed away in November 2022, Norman’s grandson, Phil stepped up to take over the family business, having worked with and around the business for the majority of his life. This was a natural progression to step into the role of running the business.

How has your business grown since then?

The family business has gone from farming to butchery – producing and supplying to many retail customers and the general public.

Where are you based and what does that community mean to you?

We are based in Andreas with a strong community shop that we have supplied for over 20 years and which showcases our full range of products. This shop is one of our best customers.

What does the Isle of Man Food & Drink Festival mean to you?

The Isle of Man Food and Drink Festival is a good opportunity to get up and close to our customers, this allows us to speak to everyone and we can get immediate feedback for our products. We also get to showcase new Manx products that we have been developing over the past 12 months alongside our existing Manx range, for example our own home produced chopped pork and corned beef.

Which other local producer(s) are you most looking forward to seeing this year?

We’re looking forward to seeing Red Mie who we work closely with to butcher their lambs. It will also be interesting to see our fellow competitors to see what new products they are introducing.

What’s on the horizon for your business?

We are in the process of updating our website with a view to expanding our online presence. We are also planning our Christmas meat pack range which will be available on our website (www.andreasmeats.com) to order for home delivery.

What is your signature dish/product?

We are mostly known for our Manx premium sausages and bacon. We have a wide range of sausages and recently developed a peri peri chicken sausage which we will be promoting at the Food and Drink Festival.
